Dining in Mahone Bay:
Joanne's Deli www.joannsdelimarket.ca
Since 1986 we have delighted in providing delicious gourmet food to both residents and visitors to Mahone Bay. What started as a simple fruit stand has grown into a market, gourmet deli, bake shop, cafe, jammery and ice cream parlor. We have a diverse staff of 20 in the summer months. We were voted the "The Best Bakery Nova Scotia" by the peoples' choice awards and Eastlink TV. Our deli is open all day, pick up lunch or dinner and enjoy one of our hardy meals in our Garden Cafe or on one of Lunenburg County's wonderful beaches!
Mateus Bistro www.mateusbistro.ca
Mateus Bistro delivers tasty foods made home-style and simple. Charcoal smoked meats, fresh seafoods and local produce help bring seasonal menus to the tables. Chef Matthew Krizan has grown this bistro to focus on an appreciation for food and where it comes from.
The Bistro is right in the heart of Mahone Bay, and in the summer, Friday is a grill menu where everything is charcoal grilled to order right on the patio. To compliment the food they boast a drink menu with dozens of Nova Scotian wines, beers, ciders and spirits.

We are a family business and community cafe serving homemade, handmade goodness (and the best biscuits on the South Shore) in one of Mahone Bay’s oldest buildings. Visit us for affordable good food made with care in our kitchen using simple local ingredients and nearby suppliers like Oulton’s Farm in Windsor for meat, organic bread from Boulangerie La Vendéenne, and fresh produce from local farms whenever possible. Make yourself at home and find out what makes us one of the top 5 restaurants in Mahone Bay on TripAdvisor - just be warned, you might not want to leave!
Saltbox Brewery www.saltboxbrewingcompany.ca
At Salt Box Brewing Company, we celebrate the development of the skills and artistry required to create fresh, full- flavoured beer for consumption by the local community. Our motto: “think social, and drink local”. While we don't have a kitchen, we are more than happy for you to order in! Takeout menus from various restaurants are displayed in the tap room. We often also have food trucks on site during the summer months. Check out our calendar to see when they will drive in!
